For Parents of Young Ones Here in AlegrĂa
We have some new Agreements for our community spaces
We kindly request that everyone in the community uphold these agreements. We are each responsible for co-creating a safe, positive environment for all children to thrive in together.
MOTTO: “My child, my responsibility.”
While In The Pool: Children 12 and under must be within eyesight of caregiver at all times unless you have a verbal agreement with another adult to keep them in eyesight for a specific period of time. OR they are accompanied by older siblings with their parent’s consent.
- The Hive stools are appropriate for watching kids in the shallow pool (not the large pool).
- The loungers are appropriate for watching kids in the large pool.
Teens can swim without parental supervision when their parents have consented. This can be on a case-by-case basis (you know your child best).
Any behavior that puts another child in danger (hitting, pushing, wrestling in the water, biting, hair pulling or any other physical aggression) will require:
- Opportunity for relationship repair
- A Reflection Period away from the community area with the main caregiver to help the child get regulated and ready to re-join communal activities
- 2nd opportunity for repairing the relationship if it hasn’t happened yet
If another parent has come into the role of connecting/playing with your child while you are not engaged w/them, a brief check in with that parent to ensure they are willing to take on that role is appreciated
Children 9 and older can play without supervision in common spaces (not including the pool).
Any swearing/profanity that is inappropriate for children to hear will result in
- 1st time, child gets a verbal warning & Opportunity for repairing the relationship (not required)
- 2nd time, A Reflection Period away from the community area
- 2nd opportunity for repairing the relationship (if it hasn’t happened yet)
