Playa Tarcoles - on the side of the 34 highway, great little restaurant right beside it, free parking, lot of walking you can do on low tide around the coast.
Playa Agujas - down the public road, little restaurant there, rough local beach, connects to Playa Tarcoles
Playa Mantas - one of the nicer beaches, have to go earlier on a day if it is on a weekend. Public parking lot, tip the attendance, small waves, good for kids.
Playa Blanca - can not drive through, pay by a daypass through the Punta Leona club, or walk on low tide from Playa Mantas. Most beautiful beach, white soft powdery sand. Sea turtles hatch on the beach.
Playa Heradura - lot of restaurants there, busy on the weekends, harder to get parking there. Can book boat tours there
Playa Jaco - lots of little beach points. North end (Claritas) it goes to South End (Calle Madrigales). At south end it is the calmest, best for kids. Showers there. Great for surfing, great for swimming, have jetskis there.
Playa Hermosa - super rough, one of the top surfing beaches in Costa Rica. Beautiful costal walk to the north walk on low tide, black volcanic sand, can get hot on a day.
