Protecting Against Mosquitoes & Insects

  • Wear long sleeves and pants when in jungle areas to minimize skin exposure.
  • Shake out shoes and clothing before putting them on to remove hidden insects.

Dealing with Snakes & Other Wildlife

  • If you encounter a snake, remain calm and back away slowly.
  • Learn to identify dangerous creatures—a community list of hazardous species is available.
  • If bitten, seek medical help immediately and avoid self-treatment.
